FESCo Will Let GLVND Support Land In Fedora 25
Besides approving the Fedora 27 release schedule, the Fedora Engineering and Steering Committee (FESCo) approved GLVND support landing in Fedora 25 as an update.
See Fedora 25 Using GLVND For Mesa Has Been Causing Headaches and The Debate Over GLVND In Fedora 25 Is Still Going On. FESCo took up the matter due to the complaints and issues around switching Mesa's build over to using the OpenGL Vendor Neutral Dispatch Library as an update.
They decided yesterday to allow the update to proceed while they "encourage everyone to work through the process better next time."
Though on the FESCo mailing list thread, not everyone is happy with the decision saying that others could abuse this action for landing risky software post-release, GLVND doesn't benefit any in-tree software (since it primarily helps out-of-tree binary graphics drivers), etc.
