F1 2017 On Linux Will Support Vulkan

To little surprise considering all of Feral's Vulkan driver help recently, their racing game port announced earlier today, F1 2017 for Linux, will use the new graphics API.

Feral confirmed a short time ago the F1 2017 Linux port will be using Vulkan:

But they haven't clarified whether OpenGL will be supported too or if this is their first game exclusively relying upon Vulkan.

F1 2017 uses the EGO Engine 4.0 and under Windows relies upon Direct3D 11. Presumably they will still feature OpenGL support just as they have done with Mad Max and Dawn of War III, but will be interesting to see. With RadeonSI OpenGL still being faster than RADV, I would anticipate them supporting both OpenGL and Vulkan, especially with their porting layers helping them in the transition anyhow.

I have already been able to confirm with Feral that F1 2017 will be benchmark-friendly and they should be submitting a PTS test profile for it next week... So there should be launch-day benchmarks on Phoronix with many GPUs/drivers. And with it being benchmark-friendly and Vulkan support now has me really excited for 2 November for this new Linux racing game.
