The EOMA68 Upgradeable ARM Board/Computer Passed Its Funding Goal

It looked unlikely up until the very end that they would pass the $150,000 USD goal for this EOMA69 project that makes it easy to upgrade ARM boards (assuming newer and compatible ARM boards/cards do indeed get rolled out) and even an interchangeable laptop. However, on the final days they managed to beat their goal and raise a total of $171,000 from 2,306 individuals. Less than one month ago they were just at $50k.
Those curious about the details or who have forgotten about the project can visit CrowdSupply.com.
The product roadmap shows that among the SoCs they are looking to support next are potentially the Allwinner R40 and Exynos Octa-Core. New/better housings are also being looked at, including a potential handheld game console and 7-inch tablet. Check out that link for more of their potential future plans. Hopefully some of these do plan out so with a bit more modern hardware should appeal to a larger selection of people, including myself, and any creative form-factors / use-cases they come up with for the computer cards.
