Dolphin Emulator's Vulkan Back-End Is Now Feature Complete
Just last month I was writing about the Dolphin Emulator working on a Vulkan back-end and already this back-end is said to be "feature complete" for this open-source Nintendo GameCube/Wii emulator.
This isn't too surprising since Dolphin-Emu has already been working on a Direct3D 12 experimental back-end for rendering these Nintendo GameCube/Wii titleso n the desktop and there is the existing OpenGL 3 back-end.
The Vulkan Dolphin-Emu pull request was updated this week to make clear the current state: "Now feature-complete, time for clean-ups/bug-fixing/performance work."
The initial TODO list is now complete with having a basic framework in place, actual drawing is taking place via Vulkan, shader compilation is all working, games are starting to rendering assets correctly, etc.
Can't wait to see more open-source game projects work on Vulkan support!
