Dolpin 5.0 Emulator Released, Now Requires OpenGL 3 & 64-bit
Version 5.0 of the open-source Dolphin Emulator for playing Nintendo GameCube and Wii games on Windows/Linux/OSX is now available.
Dolphin 5.0 is powered by a revitalized dynamic compiler, requires OpenGL 3.x support (or Direct3D 10 on Windows), there is also an experimental D3D12 back-end but not yet any Vulkan back-end.
Besides upping the GPU requirements, Dolphin 5.0 also now requires 64-bit CPUs and software with the 32-bit x86 support being abandoned. Dolphin 5.0 also has texture environment fixes, zFreeze support, faster CPU emulation, 3D stereoscopic output, rewritten audio code, expanded native controller support, video output emulation, a vertex loader JIT, and other new functionality.
More details on Dolphin 5.0 can be found via Dolphin-Emu.org.
