Blender 2.76 Brings OpenSubdiv, Better AMD GPU Support

Blender 2.76 is another hearty update to this open-source 3D modeling software.

Blender 2.76 presents initial support for the Pixar OpenSubDiv geometry sub-division technology, a big performance boost to the view-port, better performance out of the file browser, there's now a node auto-offset feature, absolute grid-snapping in the 3D view, sculpting with tiled strokes, and text effect strips for the sequencer. The Blender Game Engine also has alpha anti-aliasing support, improved game publishing, API additions, and more.

Blender's OpenSubdiv is their first stab at the support and has improved view-port playback performance, GPU tessellation support, and improves edge sharpness. Blender's Cycles renderer has improvements for AMD GPUs, new point density texture, camera zoom motion blur, and other changes.
