AMDGPU Fixes For Polaris Queuing Up For Linux 4.7

Yesterday I mentioned how the AMDGPU driver needed some important last minute fixes for the soon-to-launch Radeon RX 480 "Polaris" support. Those patches are now pending to be pulled as part of the next round of DRM fixes heading into Linux 4.7.

Alex Deucher of AMD sent in the -fixes pull request today for the AMDGPU DRM driver. He commented, "A bit bigger than I would normally like, but most of the large changes are for polaris support and since polaris went upstream in 4.7, I'd like to get the fixes in so it's in good shape when the [hardware] becomes available. The major changes only touch the polaris code so there is little chance for regressions on other [GPUs]. The rest are just the usual collection of bug fixes."

The Radeon RX 480 will begin shipping next week. On launch day you'll be able to see Linux benchmarks of the Radeon RX 480 on Phoronix.
