The AMDGPU scheduler patches published this week show more AMD developers involved than once was for the open-source AMD Linux driver stack.

For quite a while most AMD DRM patches came out of Alex Deucher, then Christian König and Michel Dänzer joined AMD four years ago, Tom Stellard at AMD meanwhile has been focusing on the AMD GPU LLVM back-end and OpenCL/compute, and two years ago Marek Olšák joined AMD to continue his work on Mesa/Gallium3D. That's been most of AMD's official open-source driver team for the longest time (along with John Bridgman outside of the development roles) while now with the AMDGPU stack we're seeing more involvement by other AMD developers.

With the new AMDGPU scheduler patches, the bulk of the work was done by Chunming Zhou followed by Jammy Zhou and Monk Liu. Chunming Zhou has been the author of several AMDGPU patches published this summer and prior to that I haven't seen any open-source AMD contributions by him further back.

Jammy Zhou previously worked with Catalyst and has been involved with the AMDGPU driver development.

Monk Liu has been another newer AMD contributor to the open-source driver stack while he's been at AMD since 2013 as a Senior Software Development Engineer.

Hopefully with AMD's new Linux driver strategy under the AMDGPU kernel driver, we'll see more AMD faces contributing to their open-source driver stack. After all, Intel has dozens of open-source Linux driver developers.
