Intel Pentium M 750 + i915PM: DFI's 855GME-MGF motherboard has been receiving a fair amount of attention in recent months due to its Socket 479 Pentium M support. When an Intel Pentium M is utilized in conjunction with one of these Socket 479 desktop motherboards, the high performance level can be quite shocking. Although we're running the Pentium M 750 notebook at stock speeds in this article, we've posted some results to demonstrate Intel's mobile capabilities under Linux. Hitting the bench today is an IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad R52 with 1.86GHz Pentium M processor, i915 Express Chipset, 512MB DDR2, and an ATI X300 utilizing GCC 4.0 and the Linux 2.6.12 kernel.
