You can take 4.11 from experimental. But be careful: I've tried it and my rig doesn't boot at all with 4.11. Ryzen 1600X with MSI B350M Gaming Pro, HyperX...

@combuster: the main problem is that every distro needs to follow the commits of the Intel DDX very closely. This is a lot of work and every distro ends...

Maybe try Siduction? They have some additional repositories and push some updates like kernels to their users....

uid313, these are pretty tough questions. For small projects, both OGL and VK should be okay in combination with Python. OGL is most likely easier....
