Our BPTC decompression isn't JIT yet, it is also very naive and done at runtime, I'm considering up front decompression, but it's a large memory usage...

The batchbuffer submission is just too different. The big line is gen8+/iris can rely on softpin, ppgtt and 48-bit address space, whereas prior hw can't....

Image support is coming but it won't be for the current radeonsi/r600 LLVM backends, so when you see it merged don't get excited if you want to use it...
