thanks fryed_1, i guess that rules out inactive/active adapters and whatnot being at fault. eyefinity support just plain doesnt appear to work for linux...

yup, Disper was the tool...and something like that is what you end up needing to hotkey monitor enable/disable. i tried it not too long ago...didnt quite...

exactly my point...i hope didnt come off as trying to win some kind of ati vs. nvidia war. i was just pointing out that there are things to complain about...

well...i'm a recent convert to ATI...my first linux box had an Nvidia TNT 32mb and my home desktop/laptops have always had nvidia since then... I agree...

Yah that's a possibility, and i guess it's more plausible than I considered it would be. But this is actually the card I have, and they advertise driving...

in my case though dvi and hdmi work fine at the same time, its just when i try to enable the 3rd monitor, hooked up to displayport via a dp->vga adapter...

hdmi -> hdmi cable
dvi -> dvi cable

no luck guys, need to disable 1 of the displays before i get the option to enable the 3rd display in CCC...

true, sorry, i was thinking specifically about my card which is a bit weird as far as outputs (1 dvi, 1 dp, 1 hdmi, i.e. you need 1 active displayport...

what i couldn't handle however, is a super glossy monitor in that kind...
