Btrfs has helped protect us against many corruptions. On systems without it it is much harder to monitor and protect...

Odd. Just built a 100TB filesystem and it mounts much quicker than that. Do you use space_cache=v2? What profile for data and metadata?...

Perhaps you should defrag the fs trees?
Run defrag on the root of each subvol, including top level root.
