This is all just flat out wrong. Basically none of vkd3d-proton is upstreamed ever and saying that "it's just a bunch of hacks" is pretty infuriating...

I did that work and I'm not aware of any glitches at all (aside from the typical Vulkan being broken on Intel Windows).

I don't think you understand the concepts at play here at all.
Windows has an API for waiting on any of N events and a list of events (WaitForMultipleObjectsEx)....
