    Go figure. I've always said laying frameworks on top of Vulkan to make it easier to work with, will only get us back to OpenGL. It's also the primary reason OpenGL won't go away anytime soon.

      Most game engines have their own abstractions layers anyway. Vulkan/D3D 12 are very cumbersome to use directly in your code.

        Nvidia-developer: "Ohh no, we can not force developer to use some of our extensions to make games only work good on nvidia hardware with vulkan"
        Nvidia-Manager: "can we fix it?"
        Nvidia-Developer: "We could build something on top of vulkan that acts like openGL is a little slower on Nvidia Hardware, pretty useless on other hardware but can present that Vulkan marketing bla blah!"

          Sounds about right, unless they don't do anything to make it not-work on AMD hardware that is.

              We as consumers should not allow this kind of vendor lock.

              Vote with your wallets against vendor lock extensions like VkHLF. If you feel good about the performance of AMD come on over, we need to balance the playing field so that Nvidia is forced to play a fair game.

              Abstracting and Changing the Lanscape of Gaming & GPU's so games don't work well on AMD or Intel is playing DIRTY.

              We the consumers loose by paying a higher premium for vendor lock.

              5 years ago I imagine gamers would think it's insane to pay $400-800 for a graphics card.

              They're raping us up the ass because playing dirty has payed off.

                VkHLF aims to follow the Vulkan API and is similar to the Vulkan-Hpp C++ project but can introduce new overhead via this framework, which NVIDIA developers say without sufficient design decisions could lead to just "OpenGL performance levels."
                So, like a Vulkan version of GimpWorks.

                    Also the F in VkHLF is for Framework so the title is a bit redundant.
