Is that based on current tests or old testing information? Wine tests need to get run constantly to remain up to date.

It would be nice if Office could be easily used. However, Office is older, bigger and much more complicated software than whole Wine together. It isn't a trivial thing to do.

The size of Office binaries/source doesn't matter at all. For Wine POV it's just a bunch of functions that have to be executed. Office doesn't work most probably because some functions it's using yet to be implemented.
