Phoronix: The (No) Phoronix Oktoberfest 2016

Similar to last year, unfortunately there is no Phoronix Oktoberfest meet-up in 2016 unlike in a number of years prior, as unfortunately I am missing the yearly pilgrimage/holiday...

A bit sad to read. I really hope you'll be able to make it next years Oktoberfest, you deserve a much needed vacation! The quality of the journalism, reviews and the articles has really improved in the past year.

No rest for the wicked? Desert and reward seldom keep company? Virtue is its own reward?

My small tip today isn't enough for a hangover tomorrow morning, but I hope it'll get you out of the server room and online presence for a while today.

I don't think they make six packs, I only ever saw them individually in 0,5L bottles. If he could grab two or so that would be amazing!!! Thanks for at least trying!

Hey Mike, it's not exactly München but not too far from you in Indy the Rathskeller puts on a pretty good Oktoberfest: http://www.rathskeller.com/live-entertainment

Decent selection of beer too, including both German imports and some good local microbrews.

I've never been to Rathskeller but have heard of it before and definitely want to check it out if I ever get down to Indianapolis.

Considering the increased risk of a terror attack on an event big as the Oktoberfest is it simply smart to have a beer at home. Solves the problem of drinking and driving, too.

You're entitled to your own opinion even when it is wrong.
