Interesting how third-party developers (like Epic, Crytek, Deep Silver, Microprose, CD PROJEKT) are actively supporting Linux, while big publishers (EA, Ubisoft, Activision, 2K) are generally awefully quiet. Aside from that one comment a Ubisoft representative made.

it is perfectly normal when you think about it. they can't grow much more, so another os support is more or less nuisance in their eyes. 2nd tier stream from more adoption and that is why they are eager to support platform which could enable them to grow. 1st tier will start doing when that when it is unavoidable and their throne comes in question. whole gaming industry is more or less hype driven.

2K is pushing Xcom to Linux.

That makes 5 major developers on board.

Ah yes, forgot that one. But 2K isn't a developer, it's a publisher. Firaxis Games developed XCOM.

Also, that would make 6 (Epic, Crytek, Deep Silver, Microprose, CD PROJEKT, Firaxis Games). Then we have Codemasters, so maybe 7. And can we call WMD a AAA-developer too?

The plot of this game is that North Korea has invaded and occupied the entire United States. It would be about equally plausible if they had us invaded by a small Canadian girl armed with a squirt gun.

You could also consider RSI and Kingdom Come Reckoning major players due to hype
                  Star Citizen will be huge
Kingdom Come Reckoning is coming along nicely and just opened their funding packages. Game scope and funding should increase drastically.

Shouldn't Valve be somewhere on that list?
