How's VirtualBox compared to VMware nowadays? It's been a while since I've used VirtualBox when I had issues with USB compatibility, 3D and gigE performance. Anyone know of any recent comparisons on Linux hosts anywhere? Thanks!

VirtualBox's 3D performance is not quite as good as VMWare. I'm pretty sure there's a Phoronix article that reflects this too.

VirtualBox can actually grab input devices properly. The Synaptics touchpad on VMWare only translates it to a generic mouse device so none of the touchpad functions work other than single point and tap. There have been many posts about it online over the years but VMWare doesn't seem to give a crap.
