It's just silly that they can't support both style of imports. It wouldn't be hard to parse both. They actually had to implement the parser correctly to display that error message.

It's an alpha release of a new feature. Sounds like should report it to https://github.com/python/cpython instead of here.

Consistency matters. For everything else, there's Perl.

It wouldn't be hard to parse both.

Not for a machine, but for the people who read that code it would be mildly annoying.
