    Direct3D too?! That's pretty ambitious for an open-source tool.

    I remember using CodeXL in a poor attempt to debug an app before, with little sucess... Maybe I'll try this at some point.

      RenderDoc.

      To me, that name sounds like it's supposed to be a backend for Libre Office. I get that it's supposed to be a Doctor to help find issues with things you Render, but I read it as Render Documents.

        It's the de-facto industry standard when it comes to frame debuggers in game development. We're using it heavily for our Windows titles.

        Edit: That's for PC development ofc. - console SDKs come with their own frame debuggers.

          Renderdoc is not some little , tiny open source project. Funded by Valve, maintained by an ex Crytek dev.

          Just like how imgui or Blender are not smol yet they are open source.
