Well, I certainly hope the devs are working on making wineasio work again. The last wineasio compatible version is wine 6.4.

One of the main reasons I chose Linux over Windows is because Linux is an infinitely more advanced professional audio platform, though it is quite difficult to setup and maintain.

However by running Reaper and plugins like Superior Drummer, EZDrummer, EZMix, Tone2 Electra2, and various Waves plugins under wine, communicating via wineasio with Cadence and Claudia and other KXStudio programs, Linux is a musicians dream.

But without wineasio everything collapses, and musicians might as well move back to Windows.

Well, Linux can be configured for low-latency purposes at the kernel level; good luck achieving the same on Windows (you are going to need it).

                  Here's an interesting quote:
It does contain other optimizations, such as Preempt-RT being enabled in the kernel configuration, to achieve the lowest possible latency for audio and other applications, while keeping the user interface usable. Latency as low as 0.1 millisecond can and has been achieved using this kernel.
