    AV1 with libaom? Why not rav1e at least (a compromise between quality and speed)?

    Video conferencing, but it's more like a slideshow...

      I read somewhere that real-time mode at speed >=7 is more or less usable now (depending on resolution, bitrate and so on). If it isn't, you can always crank the speed up to 9 or use more tiles for more parallelization.
