They should rewrite it in Rust.

      Fixed.

Sorry I can't read this post, can you rewrite it in Rust?

A core part of Rust is that you dont' have to rewrite you can migrate.... and this is exactly what Firefox did, it has Rust and C / C++ code coexisting. And that is what would happen with Mesa too, for instance something like say the shader complier could be written in rust, and it wouldn't really affect any of the rest of the Mesa code.

There are probably areas in Mesa where there would be some decent paydirt for porting to rust, for instance any code that may come in contact with untrusted code (WebGL etc...).

I really feel like it's at this point just trolling, so I laugh. So I just came to say, thank you for that good laughter.

NO! Go! Go is the perfect rewrite everything in it bubble hype language!

Jokes aside, as long as you cant compile Rust to proper bytecode aka use GCC to compile it, its a worthless language for systems. Keep that LLVM trash far far away from anything that needs to be reliable, like a kernel driver.

Yeah. If you have any kind of problem with your code, just rewrite it in Rust!

                  Don't feed the trolls.

Nice, now implement FLR so that AMD GPU's aren't such a joke when it comes to virtualization/crashes leaving the GPU in an unfixable state
