While that has been a guess that has been repeated by others (group think), has there been any actual confirmation from Intel as to the process that will be used?

A 5.3Ghz Rocket Lake-S chip with two generations of IPC updates over Comet Lake cores, increased caches, Xe graphics, PCIE4 and AVX512 sounds pretty good to me.

Rocket lake is such a cool product name. Pitty it is wasted on what looks like yet another refresh, but at the same time XE graphics sound interesting. Wonder if they will be more in line with the performance of an AMD APU or more midrange discrete graphics card?

Leaks on Rocket Lake-S say it is using Willow Cove cores, same as used on Tiger Lake, including avx512. So, not another Skylake refresh but, true, it does use 14nm processing which also could enable the type of boost clock performance that we see on Comet Lake.

Oh it will sound pretty loud. The Z490 mainstream motherboards will have hilarious VRM setups. This ASRock Z490 PG Velocita has 600A of VRM with 3 cooling fans for it
