      It is sadly ironic that Microsoft is now working on making gdb more usable on Windows, while Apple makes it almost impossible to debug with it on OS X, in spite of being Unix.
      Apple pushes llvm, but its debugger is not compatible with gdb, so it can't work with DDD. Getting gdb to work on Catalina with fink or homebrew is also a nightmare (code signing, thread related bugs).
