Intel recently reworked the KVM code within x86/cpu to allow those CPUs to make use of the Intel KVM driver code for virtualization.

Change the dependency for KVM_INTEL, i.e. KVM w/ VMX, from Intel CPUs to any CPU that supports the IA32_FEAT_CTL MSR and thus VMX functionality. This effectively allows building KVM_INTEL for Centaur and Zhaoxin CPUs.

I treat all hardware as if done by the worst evil in existence. You may call that evil as China, USA, North Korea, Canada, Japan, European Union, Congo, Russia, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Sudan, United Arab Emirates, United Nations, United Kingdom, etc.

After all, most electronics are manufactured in China.

There's no trust, only a fake sense of it.

Most relevant question would be, which potential spying party could be damaging to you personally. The rest you can just ignore. For example, you work for government or have to routinely handle some sort of sensitive data (business secrets). You don't want Chinese cloning your widgets/business and become a competition or whatever you do for government leak out.. so forget using their hardware and software. Just random examples.

If all you do is watch porn and share cat pics, Chinese hardware-software are fine.
