As a reference compositor Weston is actually good.

But as a usable Wayland window manager it's plain bad. Weston does not know the difference between pop-up dialogues and application windows, so it's possible to get into ridiculous situations where pop-up window that is supposed to capture focus and not allow access to the main window until interacted with can be defocused and thus not be interacted with while the main window stays in focus.

And Win-Tab does not bring highlighted windows to the foreground when cycling through the windows currently displayed on the desktop. So if there's a small window that's completely hidden behind a number of other windows, it's possible to win-tab till the cows come home and never get that window back into focus because the user will never be able to see it.
