    if you divide the revenue by the staff count, it doesn't seem like they can be paying people BIGNUM

    in the UK, you generally have to work on the basis that if you pay someone a salary of X, by the time you have covered all the employers costs (office space, national insurance (employer's tax), benefits etc) it costs the company up to 2X.

    A senior dev or devops person who gets a salary of GB£65K (typical for Cambridge UK) will cost over £120,000. Contractors generally cost more as a clear line item but without the same overheads.

    Thus if they have 24 staff, that's not far off £2.9M.
