Hm. Debian still has firmware-amd-graphics 20170823-1. I just copy it manually from kernel.org.

Yeah, Debian, the worst linux distro for the desktop ever made. Why use it? There is absolutely ZERO reason to use Debian on a modern desktop system.

Besides this, most packages are up to date, so why not use it. Debian testing is quite good in general.

I must uninstall Debian from my boxes right away, there is ZERO reason to use it... wait I get it, you're trolling.

There is a change in TAHITI firmware files, but obviously we have no idea what has changed as there is no changelog.

These are tahiti firmware files under the amdgpu directory, so supposedly they are for the amdgpu driver. The default driver for TAHITI is radeon, so if you use it there is no change.

I have compared these amdgpu TAHITI firmware files to the radeon ones, and the following have changed:

              tahiti_ce.bin
              tahiti_me.bin
              tahiti_pfp.bin
              tahiti_rlc.bin

The rest are copies from the radeon directory.

My Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 runs around 10°C hotter with this new firmware.
