    I would rather see architectures other than classic register cpus explored in new/ open source isas . With macro op fusion , aplication/ domain specific instructions ( automaticaly generated to boot it seems ) and now even vliw variants there is less and less need for that

              The Chinese have had this CPU for many years and actually tried at some point to export them to the USA, but Intel stopped them. The history is on the net somewhere.
