Phoronix: Bringing Open-Source, Automated Benchmarks To Windows 10 / Windows Server 2016

Moving forward the Phoronix Test Suite will be offering Microsoft Windows support that's at near feature parity to the automated, reproducible, open-source benchmarking support we have offered the past decade for Linux as well as BSD, macOS, and Solaris platforms. This is brand new, rewritten Windows support with a focus on Windows 10 x64 and Windows Server 2016.

Phoronix, Linux Hardware Reviews, Linux hardware benchmarks, Linux server benchmarks, Linux benchmarking, Desktop Linux, Linux performance, Open Source graphics, Linux How To, Ubuntu benchmarks, Ubuntu hardware, Phoronix Test Suite

Congratulations, Michael. I'm guessing (hoping) this will also give you an in with more professional customers.

      Nicely done Michael !

I am hoping more windows oriented testing sites might pick up PTS for their testing needs (as some of them are truly woeful)

Thanks yeah we'll see. Are lots of the smaller Windows sites still just dropping with like 3DMark, PCMark, and the other popular synthetic tests for the most part? (Ignoring the game tests.) Don't check Windows sites often, but at least for the smaller ones don't recall seeing like any of the real-world language/developer style tests or other interesting workloads that some of the PTS Windows profiles could provide.

Maybe now you could include DirectX along with OpenGL and Vulkan comparisons. For instance Unigine benchmarks.

Working windows version, means working gui.. not some half working batch files.. Why W7/W8 is not supported.

Most PTS enterprise users are interfacing with PTS clients via Phoromatic from a web interface.

Because the requirements are Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10. Most should work on Win7/8, but I don't have the time/resources to test unless there is an enterprise user wanting it there.

Maybe because they're both out of mainstream support already and Windows 7 has less than 2 years of extended support left.

                    Michael
                    Nice job!

                    One remark though:
why is there a lone "eliasvan" folder in the test-profiles folder containing supertuxkart (https://github.com/phoronix-test-sui...aster/eliasvan), instead of the new supertuxkart profile being incorporated in the "pts" folder?
