Agreed... what I saw was a pattern where RISC was fairly well defined for the chips of the time (integer-only, transistor-limited) but every few years...

That's the problem - GPU processing speed is nowhere near CPU speed. GPU workloads tend to require huge numbers of very simple programs while CPU workloads...Last edited by bridgman; 06 October 2024, 12:27 AM.
