    This is awesome, one of the problems with D is getting D applications packaged for distros that require the app to be built from source using a free/open-source compiler. Previously GDC and LDC were trailing the non-free reference DMD compiler fairly significantly in terms of version which made it difficult to use the latest features, this release of LDC addresses that quite nicely.

      D never really caught on, and now there is Rust that seems promising.

          Nice. Now I wish they worked on that ABI compatibility between the different compilers' Phobos, too.
