It's been just shy of one month since Qt 6.2 debuted as the first Qt6 Long-Term Support (LTS) release and ported many of the remaining modules over from Qt5. Shipping today is now Qt 6.2.1 as the first point release with more than two-hundred fixes...

KDE has a repo with security fixes and some of the other backported patches that upstream puts into their commercial-only 5.15:

I believe most Linux distros use that instead of the now outdated upstream 5.15.2.

But yes, that is basically the reason LTS versions past a certain date are now gated behind a paywall: maintaining so many versions at once is tedious and thus expensive. I had a similar discussion when the idea of releasing every 3 months instead of 6 was circulated in our (small) company. I said: I can give you a release every week, can you handle the support? The discussion died off shortly after.

Using Qt 5.15 so that:

a) Applications don't look like ass in KDE.
b) Applications also work on older operating systems people still use.
c) Applications don't have the bugs and glitches of Qt 6.

I am talking about the HELL that is 5.15. Apparently Qt stopped shipping updates to it in open-source form...

The Qt Company stopped making public versioned/tagged releases (i.e. 5.15.x). The raw commits are still in the public repo. Nothing stops *you* (or the KDE folk) from cherry picking your preferred commits (once they are approved in the upstream project) and building your own personal releases, but the Qt Company is no longer doing that for you unless you are paying for them to do it.
