    Back in May we wrote about China launching an alternative to Google Summer of Code and Outreachy. This global open-source program hosted by the Institute of Software Chinese Academy of Sciences is running "Summer 2021" for encouraging university-aged students regardless of gender or nationality to get involved in open-source development...

          China can take its GSoC alternative and go to hell. The only reason "Uighur facial recognition" is not there as a project proposal is that there are already CCP-linked corporations developing it for them [1].

            I have some Chinese made Android tablets without access to kernel sources. I think Chinese government first needs to educate companies and developers about software license obligations.

                Well so long as it is open source thats cool. but man, you add china's name onto anything and skepticism skyrockets lol.
