Sorry, I'm European, so when I wrote "liberal" I didn't mean as in the democratic party in America, but in it's more general meaning. On the other hand, the republican party has been hijacked by authoritarians, and when you only have one party left that believes in liberal democracy then you don't really have a functioning democracy. Yes, you are 100% correct. The US system is not democratic. That's why the Republicans try so damn hard to draw the districts in their favor, and make voting harder for those who would not vote for them. Because as soon as nobody votes for them anymore (which is just a matter of time), it will turn into a one-party system. It's a desperate act to keep a broken system on life support.

Truth. Socialism, Communism, Fascism, they are all the same thing. The difference is purely academic. They all demand total allegiance, they all demand forfeiting increasing amounts of your rights and your money in the name of some common good. And they all involve pitting the people against some perceived enemy.

Every murderous oppressive dictator of the past 200 years rose to power by promising three things: 1) Resentment of the wealthy. 2) Promises to provide for the masses. 3) Elimination of the influence of religion. He came to power by democratic (and a lot of lies and hate) means only to tear democracy down from within, just like a lot of his present day equivalents are trying to do. As some of you will recall from history the massive Socialist problem in Germany pre-World-War-II (The Unnecessary War) was what led to the rise of the Fascist -- Adolf Hitler.
