      It wasn't an appropriate comment for that issue thread. It's a tracking issue, it's the official repo for zstd, and it's for tracking upstream progress into kernel from a dev there. I'm sure they know about the 1.4.9 release and anyone subscribed to the issue doesn't care to be pinged about it. Not that they don't care about the release itself, but that isn't the right place for that comment.

      If you've been involved with open-source dev, one of the more annoying things for long standing issues is users chiming in with their "+1"comments which add no value to the issue but pings everyone a notification about it.

        Thank you pkese and RedEyed. Thought that was the case but the numbers on the zstd main page and these new numbers made me doubt. Comparing them kinda puts them on par. But i suppose that's not a fair comparison as it's tested with different pc's.
