3g is measured in megabits. even 2g/edge is faster. of course, that's theoretical numbers, practice can be 0 depending on conditions

Where I live (UK), they will be offering 50-150 Mbps for £89 per month. Very expensive, but it should go down with time, and speed should go up too.
