    As nearly no one is optimising for specific architectures (bar us Gentoo folk) I get why they aren't prioritising this

      microarch specific optimisations are only used on HPC clusters (to squeeze last bits of performance from their massive expensive infrastructure) and by Gentoo folks really.

      Also, afaik these patches and pre-built clang compilers were available from AMD for months, so if you wanted you could use them, for testing or evaluation or production.
