Phoronix: Clang LTO Patches Updated For The Linux Kernel

Google engineers have posted a new revision of their work from earlier this summer for allowing the Linux kernel to be LTO-optimized using Clang...

Andi Kleen has been providing kernel patches for LTO (gcc) for nine years.

Clang still has big problems with LTO. When the system wakes up from sleep, it performs a hard reset. Unacceptable.

I hope LTO-support in the Kernel with Clang and GCC will finally cross the finish line soon... can't wait for the performance testing on Phoronix.
