    Can it be merged? I thought gcc required copyright assignment. Did that change?

      Feels good to see this! I was working as an intern at Arm 2 years ago in the team that was developing the pointer tagging instruction set extension that enables this.

      Hopefully this will allow detecting more bugs and security vulnerabilities in more software!

        what it? they aren't merging llvm source, it's completely different code. they implement same algorithm in gcc
