      I don't know if you caught this from my other thread, but GNU make 4.2.1 is also broken and will degrade to -j1 sometimes. The fix is committed to git.

            Heh as a Kabylake owner I'm feeling pretty ripped off right now, but I wasn't exactly blind to Intel's faltering in performance improvements. Computers have gotten pretty boring recently, with only GPUs and storage having interesting gains in performance/features.
