If I am not mistaken, Stoney Ridge was the "thin and light" low powered version of Bristol Ridge which was the process upgrade of Carrizo. Bristol Ridge was more for "mainstream" laptops and was found in some desktops. I have a Bristol Ridge APU in both an HP Pavilion desktop and a Lenovo laptop.

So...does this sound driver inclusion affect ONLY Stoney Ridge or does it see Stoney Ridge and Bristol Ridge as one and the same APU and thus this is good for Bristol Ridge as well ?

This is just for ACP audio (mostly embedded and specialized systems). Most consumer Stoney systems use Azalia audio which has been supported for years. The patches are updates to the ACP code for CZ/BR that went upstream a while ago.
