Basically she got her ass fired.
I don't know how much responsibility she bears vs. how much she was made a scapegoat, but one thing now is certain: the Unity/Mir/Ubuntu Phone years were a total, unmitigated disaster for Canonical.

At least Ubuntu Phone was a genuine positive attempt at a product, whereas the Mir push and unfounded anti-systemd vitriol were clear losses.

r1348 the years were not a total disaster because those were the years where Ubuntu became the dominant force in the Cloud and in IoT. Also the Unity/Mir initiative was what Mark wanted and that is why he moved to a role that focused on those goals.

Mir was created because Wayland did not accomplish what they wanted to accomplish. It does pretty much do it all now but not back then when they started Mir.

Also there was ZERO vitriol from Canonical/Ubuntu in terms of systemd and they even refused to comment on the Debian debate of Upstart vs systemd because they created Upstart and in doing so would be interfering which they didn't want to do. As soon as systemd was chosen, Mark announced the next day that they too would adopt systemd. Please do not claim Canonical/Ubuntu had anything to do with the anti-systemd nonsense because they didn't.

What are you even talking about? Are you referring to Silber or French? Regardless of which one, why do you say that?
