Yep, bulk of sales are to US schools and possibly companies. http://www.omgchrome.com/chromebook-...-percent-2015/

Please remember that my point was just that chromebooks are VASTLY outnumbering the sales of all stuff with FirefoxOS combined, not that ChromeOS isn't a horribly niche OS that makes sense for places where you only need a browser to be good.

Although when they roll Android compatibility layer they are going to increase their appeal towards common people, becoming basically android laptops.

Yes, but FirefoxOS tried to have APIs for accelerometer, GPS, and camera available through Javascript. I don't know how well that worked. I know Chrome OS has a lot of features for an operating system just with a browser, but I don't think it has all of that working.

      Am I wrong?

        Mixed:
Accelerometer in Chrome webapps is old news http://arstechnica.com/information-t...t-to-chromium/
chrome apps can use the camera (not just in chromeOS, btw) but I don't know if it is through javascript APIs https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/camera

GPS hardware isn't in chromebooks at all (apart from some weird specimen from 3+ years ago), so that isn't of supported of course. https://productforums.google.com/for...al/LmMRNsBMjF4

Good riddance I say. Trying to upstage a de facto victor in its own industry was a lost cause from the get go. Android has won the mobile space with Apple a close second, and this state of expected to persist for a very long time. Much like how Windows won the personal computer space; more than 20 years in, and Apple can only manage to dent Microsoft's position, while Linux still remains clouded in obscurity with little vendor support.

Good riddance. Mozilla has great engineers and TERRIBLE management. We've tried to work with them numerous times in the past and they are incompetent and even outright lied. Now wonder the projects they support fail and only exist because competitors fund them because they don't want to be sued for having a monopoly.

This is the best thing that could happen to B2G - its actually quite an interesting platform and robust platform if the right project manager comes along and prioritizes the important things; e.g. multimedia, security, performance.

Yeah that's incredible... shitty hardware, internet connexion always needed, no storage, no compatibility, no applications... and they are sold 100x more than a Linux distro based laptop.

Google is so powerful dude... (ok, the low prices are powerful too)

Has there been any activity on Boot2Gecko since this happened?
