Landing a deal with Meizu is a huge win Canonical; especially since a Chinese company will take up the lead with Ubuntu OS. The Chinese smartphone market is huge. Not only that but Meizu does have a presence in several countries. They are taking preorders in India and were supposed to release a phone in the United States this year (not sure what happened with that). Though, even Samsung has had problems with making a market demand for their own OS. Plus it's not like Canonical will have an easier time going up against Android/iOS compared to Windows/Mac OSX. But I'm always rooting for Linux and Qt; so, I wish Canonical luck.
