The "Meta key" in question is the same as in other keymaps is known as the left "Super key", left "Windows key" (MS Windows), and the left "Command key" (Mac).
The Shift key is specifically the left Shift key.

USB keyboards only report which keys (codes) are being pressed down when the host polls it. There are no distinct "Key Press" or "Key Release" event messages as there are over PS/2.
Therefore, if left Shift + left Super are held when Copilot gets pressed, the keyboard would just report an additional press on F23. The other way around: new presses on left Shift or left Super are not reported while the while the Copilot key is being held.

Personally, I use the Compose key a lot. I think most users (like me) have it mapped on Menu ("APP") — a key which has often been bumped in favour of the Copilot key on new Microsoft keyboards.
Luckily for those who would map Copilot to Compose, the Compose key isn't pressed together with any other: it is only used in sequuences.

The best thing the patch could do is to map this absolutely useless piece of stinky brown substance back to right Ctrl key - exactly what this key was before M$ desided to change keyboard and replaced very usefull key with useless one.

But unfortunately no - the patch is bout making copilot key to work as copilot key. Junk patch. Useless.

Hopefully, System76, Tuxedo or Slimbook just don't bother with this useless key that will reduce arrows or numpad even further.

Finally. I hate this copilot key! Microsoft went extra mile to make sure it's not compatible with anything. Typical Microsoft crap they've been pulling since the early days.
