    Arriving a bit off schedule due to this past weekend's WineConf 2017 where Wine 3.0 and future roadmap items were discussed, Wine 2.20 is now available for testing today...

        I'm puzzled by the support for ARM64. Are there any windows apps built for ARM64?

          No but mobile gpus have exceeded 500gflops and recompilers the 50% plus they save into cache.

            With CPU emulation (x86 to ARM) You can use this to run Windows x86 apps on ARM hardware. Microsoft presented something like this little time ago - binary translation which could run x86 apps on Windows ARM.

              Hellblade finally became playable, but some graphical issues remain. Performance is pretty terrible though.

                A developer might port a Windows application or game by using Wine (e.g. a linux game that bundles Wine or Wine libraries) and might conceivably build it for ARM as well? Niche thing but might be used if desktop/laptop on ARM 64bit takes off. Or things like real linux distro on smartphone (chroot or bare metal).

                    No. The CPU emulation part is handled by qemu
