  • Audio in virtual machines/KVM

I'm trying to set up a VM with GPU Passthrough working to use for Windows gaming. Getting GPU passthrough working was relatively simple compared to the issues I'm having with audio. After much tweaking and experimentation, I finally got audio mostly working. But it still crackles and distorts whenever there's disk or network I/O in the background. Has anyone here been successful in getting clean audio out of a Windows VM with KVM?

I have KVM passthrough working. I don't seem to have any problems with audio though?

My setup is on Fedora 25 with latest updates (Linux 4.11.6, KVM 2.7.1).

Interesting thing is that I find that I do not use it all that much anymore. I mostly game on Linux nowdays as more and more ports are available.
